Radon Mitigation Systems for Different Foundation Types
The type of radon mitigation system installation depends largely on the building’s foundation. For slab-on-grade buildings, sub-slab depressurization is typically the most cost-effective method. This system uses a radon fan to create a negative pressure beneath the concrete slab. This removes radon gas, delivering it to a suction point where it can be safely vented outside.
For buildings with crawl spaces, sub-membrane depressurization is commonly used. This method involves placing a membrane over the dirt floor of the crawl space. Additionally, it uses a fan to draw radon from beneath the membrane. This process prevents it from entering the structure.
Vapor Mitigation Services

Passive Vapor and Radon Mitigation Methods
Passive methods include sealing cracks in the floor slab and foundation walls, or installing a venting layer beneath the slab to allow radon and vapors to be vented outside. Membrane installation is another passive method we use. This process includes applying impermeable sheets beneath the concrete slab or over a dirt crawl space.
